GENERAL PROCUREMENT NOTICE
JSC “Shardara Hydropower Plant” intends using the proceeds of a loan from the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (the Bank) for a modernization project at Shardara HPP, a hydro power plant in Southern Kazakhstan. The proposed modernization project will allow to replace four existing power generation units and to increase the plant’s efficiency and installed capacity in order to secure supply and also to meet growing local demand. The turbines will be replaced gradually allowing the HPP to continue power generation throughout the project cycle. The project has been approved by Samruk Kazyna National Welfare Fund, Samruk-Energo and has full support of Shardara HPP shareholders.
The proposed project, which has a total estimated cost of about 13,6 billion KZT (61,7 million EUR equivalent) , will require the procurement of the following goods, works and services:
- Rehabilitation of Shardara HPP (including replacement of four existing power generation units)
- Consulting services to the Project Implementation Unit (PIU)
Tendering for the above contracts is expected to begin in the 1st quarter 2012.
Contracts to be financed with the proceeds of a loan from the Bank will be subject to the Bank's Procurement Policies and Rules and will be open to firms from any country. The proceeds of the Bank's loan will not be used for the purpose of any payment to persons or entities, of for any import of goods, if such payment or import is prohibited by a decision of the United Nations Security Council taken under Chapter VII of the Charter of the United Nations or under a law of official regulation of the Purchaser's country.
